Amelie Driver
I taught Amelie for two and a half terms of GCSE before an unfortunate accident ruled me out of teaching for the remainder of her time in year 11. It didn’t take much to notice how talented Amelie was despite her humble nature. Amelie achieved straight 9s at GCSE. When I returned to the classroom post accident in September 2023 I was most upset to see Amelie sat in my Maths class as opposed to my Further Maths class. As a total all rounder Amelie had fully diversified her A-level portfolio and had no space for for Further Maths. I managed to convince her to exchange Art for Further Maths, an act that the Art department at school never forgave me for. Fortunately Amelie didn’t regret the swap and went on to achieve four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Politics. Amelie is now studying Chemistry at the University of Oxford.
